10 Web Resources To Organize or Enhance Instruction

The web can be a great tool for finding resources to organize and enhance instruction.  Whether you need to communicate with other educators, find an innovative learning tool, or organize your own instructional materials the following sites are just some of the great resources available.

1. storybird – Storybirds are short, art-inspired stories that either you or your students can share, read, and print. You can be read them like books, played them like games, or send them as greeting cards.

2. LiveBinders – LiveBinders is like having a 3-ring binder on the web.  This website allows you to view links like pages in a book instead of URLs on a page and was created for educators to share and categorize information.   LiveBinders can be organized by subject, grade-level, or whatever else makes sense to you.

3. eduClipper – The purpose of EduClipper is to give educators a place to store resources that they can share from their “backpack”.  It is a new free tool that will allow you to clip educational content from around the web and share it with colleagues, students, and the world.

4. classconnect – Need to find lessons aligned with the Common Core while adding your own websites, online videos, Google Docs, and files. Then classconnect is for you.  Organize and Store any and all of your instructional materials.  “The basic purpose of Class Connect is to provide a place for teachers to store all of the digital materials associated with their lesson plans”.

5. popplet – Popplet is a place where you can post, design and share your best ideas and random stuff all in one visual space. Popplet is a mind-mapping tool which enables teachers and students to visually represent and organise information using text, images, or both.

6. wordpress – This is a free blog site managed by the developers of the WordPress software.  You can custom design templates,  view integrated statistics, all while having automatic spam protection.   “WordPress is a free and open source blogging tool and a dynamic content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL”.

7. – YouTube EDU brings learners and educators together in a global community. It allows you to  bring the power of video to your classroom for free.  Imagine being able to access thousands of free high quality educational videos whenever and wherever you want and you have YouTube EDU.

8. DisplayNote – If you need to articulate, annotate, and collaborate with students and colleagues then DisplayNote may provide the help you are looking for.  It enables users to present, share & collaborate ideas across any device.

9. Nearpod – Nearpod is a presentation tool that allows teachers to engage and provide real time assessments to their students using mobile devices. Educators can easily create presentations that include images, videos, and anything else that will provide engaging instruction.

10. Khan Academy – This library has of over 3000 videos covering everything from math to biology, finance, and history and has hundreds of skills for students to practice . ” It is our mission to provide a world-class education to anyone, anywhere.
